During COVID-19 the nation mostly shut down. Many states enacted stay-at-home orders and group activities were limited. In the wake of the death of George Floyd, many groups came out to protest despite restrictions put in place by public health officials. Many jurisdictions did not attempt to stop these protests, and in some cases worked with protest leaders to ensure a peaceful protest.
Research and write about at least three cons of local government leaders, including law enforcement, allowing these protests to take place in lieu of the public health crisis.
